2026 W21 Product Updates - Profit Visibility and Tip Management
May 18, 2026
Profit visibility
Admins can now control whether profit is shown in the app, and to whom. If your cost data isn't dialed in yet, or you'd rather not surface margin numbers to technicians, you can turn it off. The setting lives in organization settings and applies across the leaderboard and job cards. If you run bottom-line commissions, profit visibility stays on automatically since the commission math requires it. For everyone else, it's your call.
Tip management
Tips now split evenly between assigned technicians automatically. They're always commissionable by default, and if you try to unselect them during job review, you'll get a warning before anything changes. No more manually dividing gratuity or second-guessing whether tips are being counted toward payout.
Tips now visible in reports
Tips are included in your performance pay report export. They've always been commissionable by default, but they weren't showing up in the report CSV as a distinct line. That's fixed. If you're reconciling technician payouts at the end of a pay period and tips are part of the picture, you'll now see them clearly in your export without having to cross-reference anything.
Approve button
The job review flow now has an 'approve' action. Approve a single job from the job detail screen, or select multiple jobs and approve them in bulk from the list. When a job is approved, payouts are locked in and the job moves out of the pending queue. The review flow is now a complete workflow from pending to approved, not just a place to edit numbers.
Manual sync for Housecall Pro
You can now trigger a manual sync directly from the app. After you begin the sync, the button disables for about five minutes while the sync runs, so you're not double-firing it accidentally. If something looks off or you want to verify your latest jobs are in, one tap takes care of it.
Faster syncs for Housecall Pro
Earlier this year we overhauled the HCP sync pipeline with a hashing-based approach that dramatically reduced the processing load on each job import. The old method was hitting architectural limits as job volume grew. The new approach is significantly faster and more reliable under load. Combined with alerting we added for sync errors, jobs come through faster and we catch failures before customers do.
